Hi, I’m Cortney Levine, an academic editor specializing in thesis and dissertation editing, formatting, and scholarly clarity.
I have worked as a professional editor, proofreader, and formatter at the academic level since 2015. For seven years, I served on staff at a university as a dedicated thesis and dissertation editor, where I supported graduate students with submission-ready manuscripts.
In addition to academic editing, I have experience editing fiction and nonfiction, which strengthens my attention to voice, narrative flow, and clarity—skills I bring thoughtfully into scholarly work while preserving each author’s academic integrity.
I hold an MA in English from Northwestern State University of Louisiana and a PhD in English Literature from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I also hold a Poynter ACES Certificate in Editing and am a professional member of ACES: The Society for Editing.
I regularly work with MLA, Chicago, APA, and AP style guides and am comfortable adapting to university-specific formatting requirements. My goal is to help relieve the stress on graduate writers in reaching the finish line!
